Last sunday toni and I ventured into middle Jersey to attend 2  1/2 day classes at Suze Weinbergs office and workroom.  Tables were set up in the middle of  a supply filled area.Suze has all the things you and I might want to create with! And she sells them here www.schmoozewithsuze.com  She carries Ranger Products,the fabulous Melting Pot,stamps ,stencils, masks and much much more She also gives classes several times a year. If you watch her blog    at http://suzeweinberg.typepad.com/suzeblogs  you’ll learn good stuff, laugh lots and have a few surprises! On to the classes. In the morning  we learned some of the art of paper jewelry from Margot Potter. visit her at http://margotpottertheimpatientcrafter.blogspot.com We  made a very lightweight necklace using grungeboard circles as a base. we cut from fashion magazines circles of color to cover the base on both sides and glued them down.lightweight silver charms were used to space out the circles on a light silver chain!   Wonderful!So light you didnt know it was round your neck!   After a lunch break we spent the afternoon experimenting with wax and ancaustic under the watchful eye of Suze. We learned about heating the wax properly, applying it to wood, embedding photos, adding color,and moving the wax around using the heat gun.This was not a “make it and take it” class but an in depth study of how  we can use the waxes in our art work. It was amazing to see what  happens when you apply heat.  It was a great day for all, lots of fun and much laughter!

There they are, reminiscing about “the old days”  baseball and such.I painted this during the world series. I’m not a baseball fan but must have been influenced by all the “hype” on tv.This mixed media picture has layers of gesso, black paint, handmade paper and craft papers too. Its now on our etsy site for sale.

Sometimes you just have to do what the  picture tells you. I had gessoed, painted, papered this canvas and it just sat there! One day feeling silly,I laid the feather and the bottle cap on it and looked. Not yet! Next day I came across the eye and glued it in the bottle cap! yea! Put it all together and here it is! And it is on our Etsy page if you are interested!

Thanksgiving reminds us of all those in our families who have gone before. When I saw these three women I was reminded of my grandmother, my great aunts and others who all traveled different roads but found their way home to celebrate thanksgiving with family. May you enjoy this holiday  with your family too!

Ya never know all the things you are capable of doing, until you give them a try. When Lyle received this envelope from Deb, (http://mistressdebrina.blogspot.com) I was flabbergasted!  Lyle was just as amazed…….she is well aware of your talents, but still, Deb…… it’s wonderful!
